SALLY SQUIRE

Sally Squire renders her fine, fragile sculptural works with an effusive respect for delicacy and grace. Commanding in their intricacy and beguiling in their arrangement, her crisp compositions favor high textural surfaces and a sharp control of geometric form. Her wall sculptures and free-standing vessels demonstrate her technical artistry in rendering clay at its most supple essence.

Done almost exclusively in porcelain, with the inclusion of external materials and inks in specific projects, that lend dimension, Squire achieves an impressive dexterity in alluding to fluidity and softness.

Facing the rigidity of her medium, Squire extends beyond those limitations to make venerable works that employ structure and linear movement to create gentle, vulnerable scapes.
